I changed my Di resin cartridge yesterday and I was not able to achieve 0 tds. Right out of my ro I was getting 4 and out if my Di 2 tds. I switched the tds meters on my RO/DI unit just to verify that it is working properly. No change. Ideas? Comments? Interpretive dances?

Is your resin allowing a bypass or is there channeling in the resin?

AZdesertrat is the resident RODI guru. PM him for help.

I agree AZdesertrat is the RO expert. First off how old is the RO system? When you changed your DI resin did you pack it in tight as it is required? Also, how old is the resin and was it in a sealed bag without air in it? Any exposure to the DI resin with ruin it.

Don't they need to be calibrated with NaCl solution every once in a while?

Was the new DI cartridge fresh and still sealed?

Did you allow about a gallon to pass through to rinse the resin up before testing?

What is your water temperature and your room temperature where the unit resides? The dual inlines measure air temperature not water temperature so can be off by quite a bit if the temps are not the same, as much as 2% for every degree C difference.

I have two of the dual inlines but rarely even turn them on, I much prefer a good handheld meter with automatic temperature compensation (ATC) like the HM Digital COM-100, TDS-3 or TDS4-TM models. They all have a digital thermometer built in too so you can measure water temp easily.

The cartridge was just out. It was not wrapped with anything. Should I just buy the resin and refill it?
