i bought this snail about a month ago, and it just disappeared, i didn't see it from the day i bought it. i thought it had just died, so i just marked it up as a loss, and forgot about it.

the LFS called it a "funny snail".... it was just some kid, not the owner, so i didn't really ask too many questions.
but everytime i google it, i bet you can figure out what i get.... cartoons and memes....

well, i saw it's shell poking out of the sand about a week ago, and just left it as it was because i figured it was dead, and one of my hermits would eventually get big enough and take it over. the shell itself is pretty rad, so i thought that'd be cool.

until this morning.... i saw what looked to be a snail attached to the front of the glass, under the sand, i pulled it out and there it was, the "dead snail" live as can be.... i placed him back on top of the sand and he just dug himself back into it.

if u can help me with anything, or know anything about this snail, or even its real name or the way i can find it on google that would be great. i'd like to find out exactly what it is... pics below...

If it burrows, it's probably a nassarius snail

It's HUGE though. Like golf ball sized. Like the size of a Mexican turbo snail. I've never seen a nassarius that big before. Do they get that big?

It looks like a babylonia whelk. Can you post a bigger picture? Asking questions and researching purchases before making them is a more responsible brand of husbandry that I would strongly suggest you take advantage of.Its not like there is no one you can ask.lol:)

Hard to tell from the pics, doesn't look like a nassarius snail. It could be a conch of some kind. I used to have one, it was pretty cool.
