    I'm putting up a 65 g dt.
My old tank is a 35 been up for about 4-5 months.
The 35 will be a fuge for the 65 dt.

So I was thinking about keeping the fish and corals on the fuge
and cycling the new tank and old dt (new fuge) for a week or so but
it might be to crouded in my old fuge with the croral and 3 fish... Crabs snails ect...

You think with the old(in the fuge 35) sand, new sand and the old rock
would be good with one week cycling?

I just don't want to keep every one is such a small refuge.
    20g fuge in three sections.

Or cycle the 65g then just hook the new (old dt 35g) fuge???? And drop every one in???

This is similar to what I did when I upgraded tanks... "cycle the 65g then just hook the new (old dt 35g) fuge???? And drop every one in"

    1) I used generous amount of sand from my old tank in seeding the sand of the new tank.

    2) I moved all LR without coral on it to the new tank during cycling.

    3) Used my old sand in the fuge.

    4) Then I just moved everything from old to new.

My situation was different in that I had old tank, old sump and new tank. Old sump was reused as my new sump.

Maybe some of these idead will help though.
