    I have a question regarding having the skimmer pump inside of the skimmer body. Have the skimmer companies come up with a way to increase water contact time vs. the older style skimmers or is this an inherent issue with all skimmers that have the space saving feature?

    It's mainly to save space.;)
    There really is no benefit in contact time as the principles are the same.Just the location of the pump has changed.

    Good explanation..........now the design of the POV is too create larger volumes of tinier bubbles for more surface reaction.
