new rock

I have had it in my new tank for about a week and im having a nice alge bloom its brown and turned the rock gold. here is the question. the top of one rock it is turning white. i just dont know what it is. maybe a calcium prob. or maybe its dyeing but it smells fine. any ideas?

 

Don't worry about it, it's probably dead coraline. Just let the cycle takes its path.

well i know what triggered the bloom. (dead damsel) i was wondering where he went.

 

haha dont you just love finding a fish you havent seen forever! i hate it....

 

dont worry algae is all part of a new tank. if it gets on the glass mag float it. the rock is just coralline die off.....all normal. i only got 4 fish if a fish dies in a reef tank it could be hidden under a rock and rot causing water issues. i would recommend getting a cleaner shrimp....when i had my royal gramma die he picked it up and carried it out to the open where i could remove it from the tank

 

yea i think i have one on the way. i special ordered alot of things lol
