New Reef Angel Water Level Expansion Module

Reef Angel's latest expansion module comes out in 2 weeks and should excite the Reef Angel crowd with its many uses, especially at an MSRP of only $69. The Reef Angel Water Expansion Module will let you monitor your sump or display tank water level and give you a precise indication that you can use to turn on/off your equipment. 8)

Example of things you could do:

1. Implement an ATO. No more mechanical float switches that can be easily tampered by a simple snail.
2. Shut off return pumps to avoid overflow.
3. Shut off ATO pumps to avoid them running dry.
4. Implement an Automatic Water Change.
5. Alert you of any abnormality that can be found by monitoring the level of water.

Features:

• Pressure sensitive sensor (No mechanical sensors or moving parts)
• Up to 15" of range
• Uses any standard 1/2" PVC pipe to measure the water level

What would you do with the new Water Expansion Module on your tank?

Very cool! Right now I use one float for ATO, and one inside the tank side of my overflow box to shutoff the return pump if the utube fails to siphon. It would be great to move the other float to the other side of the box in case that was ever plugged, or even to use inside my skimmer to shut it off if it goes crazy!

You could even use this to turn your return pump back on if the sump level got too high! Very, very cool! I am guessing it can't be used with the basic Reef Angel though and you would need the Plus, no?

 

It can be used with the standard RA too
