Ok, so.. So far we are doing well with the reeftank..

We just started our mantis shrimp tank. We'll have some things arrive tomorrow and off we go!

Now, I have a 75G tank that we are planning on doing some sort of terrarium.
    Frogs maybe? turtles?

HOWEVER.. I wanted to keep it fishy.. I imagine some sort of Island for say turtles to stay on dry land, and then the rest to be an aquarium with some fish swimming around as display.

    Kind of like this http://www.aquapage.cz/Obrazky/Paludarium/Paludarium_2006_07_14_a.jpg

Except that maybe the island on the back taller so that at least half the tank is full with water.
Id like to turtles with fish.. I am not sure if that's possible? maybe some fast aggressive fish?

    Any Ideas?

You could do a really cool mudskipper tank in a 75 gal. That kinda covers both land and sea (brackish).

There's a guy in NY that almost always has Indian mudskippers, which are nice because they only grow to about 4", but he also gets the larger species from time to time.

I just took a peek on his site, and he has some Indians in stock:

    Frank's Freshwater Aquarium

Frank has been in biz quite awhile...he was a good source of FW pipefish for SH keepers. He generally has some interesting stuff in stock, and a fair amount of brackish fishes.

Maybe a tidal marsh with both plants and animals from a specified area.Maybe for educational purposes you can get a permit to collect your own specimens.
