The new PLS-50 nano skimmer shows that the guys from CAD Lights Aquariums have some serious engineering prowess . They took the already innovative pipeless design of their PLS-100, shrunk it way down to just a 3 1/4" footprint for nano fans and still managed to make substantial mechanical improvements. Just follow your eye to the red locking system the PLS-50 has. That is a big deal. I loved many things about the PLS-100, but I had my quibbles with the wandering waterline. CAD Lights Aquariums listened. :) The result is simple and sure to be effective at holding your adjustment. Simply twist the skimmer body to adjust, then tighten the red nut to lock. Additionally there is an up/down adjustment unique to the PLS-50. The new PLS-50 is low profile yet powerful (rated for up to 50g tanks). My hat's off to them. More details below. Coming soon.

Looks like this could become a favorite for nanos. It would be great if they could come up with a addon locking system for the pls100.So far the hoover belt mod is working for me but a nice little locking devise like that would be really nice.

Wonder if it will fit in a biocube compartment 1. I'll have to measure tonight.

That's awesome! I think I'll be sending them an email and get myself one of these devises, even though it is a couple dollars more than the hoover belt(jk). Thanks so much for the info.BTW,my PLS100 is working great with the belt mod in place, this addon just might make me like it even more and it may even make it unnecessary to have the silencer attached to the collection cup lid.
