Here are a couple pictures of our new PAR38 bulb. Note that the regular blue LED is in the center of the bulb, with royal blue along the outside.

The first picture is of our 7 day full burn-in test.

The second picture is the top of the PAR bulb, complete with logo.

Matt, these are two diffenent bulbs. PAR 30 & PAR 38. The 30's have 5 diodes while the 38's have 7.

Here's the link to the website. The difference b/w the PAR38(bottom of page) and the New 38s(top of page) is the new available colors in diodes (warm white & blue, apposed to the royal blue cool white).

Results for LEDs:pAR bulbs (Don't even ask why there is a smiley face over-top the link...lol)

That and the numbers refer to the diameter of the bulb.

Well, because there are more diodes on the higher PAR bulbs.

THanks for info! I figured as much but thought it was important to link the two threads on the homepage. :)

I believe the suggestion is 6 or 7. I have a buddy on here who checked into it for a 75 and that was the response he received. In fact they suggested he go with the 48 bulb retro plus a 12 bulb retro.

These bulbs are typically used over smaller tanks (though there's no reason why they wouldn't work over a larger tank) so for a 75 gallon tank we typically suggest one of our kits instead as that makes more sense from a price perspective. However, if you do want to use these over your tank I'd go with 6 or 7 bulbs depending on what you're keeping inside.
