I purchased earlier a dual media reactor. I plan to run there recommended carbon in one chamber and the phosphate media in the other. In doing so I hope to help control the blue/green cyano I have recently been getting. Anyone have this unit?

Other factors could be the root cause of your cyano problem, and these types of issues can take quite a while to remedy all based on the individual system.
However you can be rest assured with appropriate use you should expect crystal clear water and reduced phosphates given time.

So I got my reactor today, all setup, it's pretty sweet. My question though is the carbon flow goes down, gfo goes up, I feel it's the opposite though. The carbon is "bubbling" and the gfo is stationary. Shouldn't it be the opposite? ImageUploadedByTapatalk1359155647.276256.jpg

Yeah,I believe you are right, you don't want the carbon moving much or it will grind itself to tiny bits.

Try this: Connect the pump to the other tube.

    Swapping them around should work.
