Finally I got a frag. I believe typical monti care is required of this species. Mod-High light and Mod-Strong Flow. I don't have this on in my main DT, it's in a frag tank under T5 lighting.
Could this coral handle direct moderate flow or should I give it more indirect flow?

Picked up this torch as well with intentions of fragging.

Nice corals, I don't think corals like direct flow, they just grow bulky. Go indirect my corals seem to like it better.

Oh I see. I was wondering about the direct flow because I have a couple pieces of stylophora that seems to do best in direct flow.
I didn't know that corals grew bulky with direct flow tho:eek:

I have a stylo that I put in direct flow and the branches that were anchored to the plug are about 3 times thicker than when I got it. I changed the flow about 2 months ago and the new growth is more open and the coral is growing taller much quicker now. I should have said short and stumpy.

Yep, I knew what you meant I just didn't know that that is the effect of direct flow on stony corals. I'll try diverting flow from the stylo and see how the growth changes. Thanks for the info.

Thanks, and that's with no actinic. The only problem that I foresee with fragging it is that there are five heads in total but they're very closely spaced and the skeleton also anchored pretty close to the frag rock.
