New lighting

Well im goign to begin my hood this weeked to retrofit a dual halide setup and a 2 bulbs t5ho retro to supplement the actinics. Now I got the retro for cheap just doesnt include the reflectors which doesnt bother me. My plan and question is to buy 1 1/2 inch pvc and cut it down the middle that way ill have 2 halfs. I want to glue aluminum foil to the inside of them and then place it over the bulbs. Now these bulbs arent intended to grow my corals just as supplement lighting, what do you guys think. I think its a decent idea instead of spending 30 bucks per reflector. The MH are 150w running 14k bulbs and the tank is 48inchs long.
