I was looking over my tank this morning and I scoped out a new fungia birth on my frag of zoas that has given me 2 other fungia's so far, 1 pink and 1 green! 1st & 2nd pic is of the new one on the frag (I circled in red the fungia), 3rd and 4th pic are of the fungia's that have grown out of that frag (the pics do no justice for their colors)....not bad for a $5.00 investment :)

how long did it take yours to reach the size of the ones in pictures three and four? The reason i ask is that i have two on a rock with zoas that look just like that but they have not really grown over the last couple of months. i really wasn't sure what they were.

took about 2 months for them to be about the size of a quarter or bigger...then I broke them off and put them in the sandbed...then they grew like crazy...now they are about 3-4" across and are about a year or so old

interesting. my gsp has branched out above them blocking out the light. this could explain the lack of growth. i might try moving them.

i understand your feelings because it does grow fast. However, i love my gsp. i just wish that i would have created a separate island for it so it was easier to controll.
