    [glow=Green, 6, 90%]Hey all,[/glow]

    [glow=Navy, 4, 90%]I would like to start a new forum called "Water Chemistry," or something to that effect.  We all have questions from time to time concerning Ca levels and Alk levels and how the two are interrelated.  I have been reading several articles on the effects of long-term build-up of chlorides in our tank -- that is another subject that is worth checking out.  And how many of you know what your Magnesium levels are?  Is it important to know?[/glow] [smiley=speechless.gif]

    [glow=Navy, 4, 90%]If you think that a forum on "Water Chemistry" would be a good idea, post a YES! in this thread.  That will give us a good feel for whether the forum is needed or not.[/glow] [smiley=idea.gif]

    [glow=Green, 6, 900]Anyway, Thanks!!![/glow] [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

    Edit: Color for clarity.

    Great Idea. My Vote is in. If there is anything I can help with let me know. Not that chemistry is my strong point.

    [glow=Blue, 4, 100%]Hey Everyone !!!

    Is there any interest in this subject other than mine? I would dearly LOVE to have a forum on Water Chemistry, but if we don't have enough people interested, it is just a waste of space.[/glow]

    [glow=Purple, 4, 100%]Please, if you are interested, put your post HERE !!![/glow]

    I would LOVE a forum on water chemistry. I have been looking to other sites and find info indicating that I don't really need to know what my chemistries are to some stuff that is far too detailed for me. I don't know that I can contribute but I sure would love to have a place to go for questions. I have thought about posting questions before but sometimes I feel like I should be able to figure it out by reading other sources.

    So, if your in doubt, my vote is definitely a YES :)

    Great idea, Wrassman.

    I like it.
    Where do we put it?
    Is it time for an 'Advanced' section?
    Any other board ideas for Advanced or do we start with one board?

    [glow=Green, 2, 90%]I think an 'Advanced' section would be very well received. I do agree that our first priority should be providing basic information for the beginning aquarist. But, there are many that have been in this hobby several years, and who might enjoy a discussion of a more 'advanced' nature.

    Some topics could include:
    -- Fish disease, diagnosis, and cure
    -- Advanced Technical Equipment
    -- Alternative Filtration and Setup
    -- Expert Only Fish

    I'm sure we could think of several more topics.

    And with our non-flaming, accepting, tolerant, and respectful group here, I believe that we could provide a better 'advanced' forum than is found on other places on the 'net (i.e. RC).[/glow]

    [glow=Red, 3, 90%]Let's do it !!![/glow]
