Introduced 3 "softies" to my newly cycled tank last weekend - my first corals... all quite "durable" species according to my LFS...a red mushroom, yellow polyps and a leather "colt"...

All did well first day...opened nicely after bringing home...and looked just like they did in the store tank...however as soon as lights went out the "colt" just fell over (passed out) -

next day it was kind of hunkered over and never expanded fully...

Looks worse after 3 days...not standing at all...pieces falling off it, little epansion...gray/green color...

Have I done it in somehow? - or is this how a "shedding" leather is supposed to act??? :(

LFS says just getting used to new environment...I am not so sure...

    Hopefully so...was so "pretty" before...

    Any ideas appreciated...THX

Pic after 1st night...has not recovered since...getting worse...

I think it's too low in the tank.
Get it off the sandbed and move it up under the lights on a rock somewhere.

If you don't have halides, every would appreciate being closer to the lights.

    Good luck.

"She" is looking sooo "sad" this AM.

"pieces" definitely starting to fall off...wish I knew what "shedding" was supposed to look like...

completely flopped over...little extention...sick gray body color...

Again water params all good...if anything is "suspect" it probably was my "acclimation" which I should have put more thought and attention to...

You still going to leave it on the bottom?

Sure sounds like it's going.. you probably don't have much time.
