    this stuff is bad news..my girlfriend found out she had it this week and had to spend 24 hrs in the hospital on an IV

    Good post, Mkizla. I've moved the thead to the Environmental forum.

    This thread hits home with me, as I live relatively close to Hollywood Beach, in S. FL. This beach is notorious for bacteria in the water year-round, as there are several sewage effluents not 100 yards offshore.

    I fear that as time goes on, this could get worse before it gets better. That is, IF it gets better. :-/

    Good read real scary, living next to the beach this really scares me already battled this stuff once took 2 trips to the hospital surgery and lots of iv antibiotics to get rid of it not good being i am a diabetic,
