never seen these before?

    Check out this weird Algae (circled in yellow in the pic) that has sprouted. I have also noticed bright orange fluorescent small blooms of some sort that loose there fluorescence though out the day?? Any body else seen these? Do you know what they are called may help me out. Thanks in advance for any help!

    Just a guess here but i think its Tang Heaven (Gracilaria parvispora). For the orange things though i have no clue.

    Don't know the Gracilaria parvispora look more branchy these are plump with ?water?

    BTW, don't let that Halimeda get out of control. They go asexual synched with each other. If you allow too many plants to grow and they all go asexual, you will have a mess on your hands. I had a friends frag growout tank get nuked when this happened.

    i have some of those...if they are the same in many colors imo their are either sponges or tunicates but i cant tell from the pic if it is flat or not

    Gracilaria IIRC doesn't attach to rocks, although I could be wrong. It sure doesn't look like any gracilaria sp's to me, and I grow them commercially :D

    Um yeah, and on that halimeda... Is it just me or did I read and see somewhere that they have a calcerous skeleton, hence they would also consume calcium out of tanks eh? Has anybody ever heard that?
