Each goldfish needs alot of space. Never place them in a bowl. For starters, they are WWWAAAAAAYYY too small. GF adault size is any where from 7"-13:. Also, a bowl has no filteration, which i essental to goldfish. Little o2 can get into a bowl, which can cause a GF to suffacate. GF also live from ten to twenty years. Bowls are death traps.

Uggh my girlfriend keeps trying to keep a goldfish in a bowl, but I won't let her. I have convinced her that tanks are superior and now I am looking for a 10gal for her.

No salt in their water, no biological or mechanical filtration, no oxygen that gets depleted rather quickly, waste and respiration and overfeeding and whalah...what's cho got man...an unhappy fish that will die in due time!
Quite simple yet stupid concept for a living animal.

I have never put my goldfish in a bowl, too much toxin from feces and what not can kill a goldfish so fast. I treat my babies like angels...30g aquarium, filtration, and bubbles. As well as stuff to balance ph levels, etc.

Hey now, light blue letters? Let's stick to easy to read colors ;);D

Gold fish are fine in a bowl... that's where I keep them until I transfer them to the even smaller bowl in my snake lair. or do GF have a purpose other than reptile food?

I'm playing... Well, I'm telling the truth too.

If you're keeping bait as a pet, a bowl is rather hard to keep a fish healthy in.

Me too but mine upgraded to a 80 gallon within a couple of months. Shes gone fish crazy and insists I set her up a 200+ gallon shark tank as soon as we have room.

Thats pretty harsh. I keep my gold fish in an 80 gallon with lots of swimming room. Cant figure out where they all keep dissapearing to though and my oscar wont tell me;)
