So I just did some research and found that one of the mystery algaes I have is Neomeris annulata. Everyone seems to say it is a non-harmful micro algae that will go away. Some like the looks of it. I HATE IT!! So does anyone have some good info on it or has had it at some time? As long as it isn't harming anything I'm not too concerned, it isn't the ugliest thing in the world but not my fav. Any input would be great!!

NICE. I once paid for $40 for the ugliest live rock I ever seen with bubble algae, pest caulerpa and cyano because it had neomeris.

    Bmshehan,

I don't want you to worry about your tank getting like this. I have never seen this stuff act like this before in my life. That poor tang looks hungry. There's algae everywhere but because it's calcareous, it can't eat it.

Yes, it's actually a hard algae to keep around.
