Marshal rock is cool. Has alot of caves, and curves. Kinda pricey, but you not gonna need very much.

I don't really care where the rock comes from as long as it is porous, which is lighter in weight and aslo has more surface area with which bacteria and other organisms can adhere or burrow in!
Plus being lighter in weight, the price will be less$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$!!!!!

You know their really isn't any one type that is totally porous! You basically just have to check different pieces of live rock...you will be able to tell! I have rock from all over the world. Some pieces of rock are more porous than others!

Fiji is really porous, and marshal is up there too. That is my problem, all my crapy live rock has like no porse to it. I really have to get some new rock!!! Good luck Monkey
