Just an update. I got my Ca up to 400ppm and alk at 11 dkh.
I tested after three days of kalk and my Ca was at 400ppm with my alk at 9-10dkh. This means that i have to use more kalk, that isn't a problem as I don't use lime for 100% of my top off yet anyway.

On 20110424 I corrected my levels and started dripping kalk. I tested every three days at first, then once a week. The kalk maintained my alk at 10dkh and Ca at 420ppm. I am also seeing a lot more growth on my sps.
I am very happy with using this and would recommend it as a cheap and easy way to maintain stability of Ca and alk.
