What are the natural predators of these worms?and more importantly what do they eat? Flush or feed them to my fish?

    Flush right?

also best way of getting rid of them?

i manually removed as many as i could by shaking it in a bowl with DT water. then shook it again for about 10 seconds in freshwater. there doesnt seem to be any left (fingers crossed)

I had a big outbreak of red planaria so I picked up a melaruns wrasse. He hid under the sand for 9 days, then came out and eradicated the issue. Also eats shrimp and hermits but meh. You could also get a radiant or yellow coris (terrible name they are all in the Halichoeres genus) to give it a go.

Flip side is that with this wrasse you can't keep berhgia or smaller shrimp.

You don't want a red planaria problem. Trust me.

    hmm good to know….

my shrimp keeping capabilities are already severely limited due to my blue spot toby so that wouldn't be an issue. the fact I'm already badly overstocked is however.

i think the manual removal did the trick though, luckily i noticed it in time. should have asked for a discount at the lfs.

    thx for the replies folks

FWIW you could always do an extended "dip" in FlatWorm exit mixed with tank water. Melanarus wrasse to eat them, do NOT put them back in your tank as food lol.
