    Anybody have clue what this is??? Not the zoanthids, the blackish greyish thing. It grows on a mat, and I have about 5 of them.

    oh ive seen these before, did a research paper in college with regards to the same gene. its a blackish greyish thing.

    I thought it might be some kind of snake polyp, but I sent the pic to a marine biologist and he said it wasnt. Im waiting to hear back from him on what it is.

    This is about 3/4" tall(the biggest) and about 3/8" wide with no visible oral disc. It looks like a mouth (the white round thing in the middle with the slit across it) and tentacles. The mat looks similar to a snake polyp and sand polyp, but the actual polyp doesnt look like neither. It grows on a mat, so its not a rhodactis. There is definetly 5 of them on 1 mat.

    Its a Neozoanthus, a friend of mine figured it out. Thanks morejongg. I was just able to get back to here.
