Does anyone have any suggestions on a goby that would be happy and thrive in a Biocube 29? Tank mates will be two clowns and a green chromis. I would like one that can survive on its own, meaning no mate.

Would it be better to get it with a shrimp?

I like the shrimp combo, but you have to expect frequent sand storms from the shrimp burrowing. The shrimp will grab anything it can and drag the frag, clam....to the burrow. You can only put items in the sand bad big enough that the shrimp can not pull it around. Tiger pistol shrimp go well with the YWG.

Get the combo! I had a pistol with a pink spotted watchman that were amazing to watch. But as Corailline said, the shrimp will pull anything on the sand bed that is not "bolted down" :yelrotflmao:

Pearly jaw fish, they have a lot of personality and will hold there own. Yellow watchmans are great as well, had one for years.

im a fan of my orange clown goby and how he perches on my montipora digitata. the relation clown goby coral isnt an entirely peaceful one however. the fish will slightly stress the coral out but If your parameters are in check/the coral is healthy, no actual damage will result from the interaction ....

Can these little guys be kept in a rimless tank?
