are there any clams that could fit in an 8 gal? its about 18" across (the tank) lighting system is LEDs and my tank has been up for 9 months, established for around 8 months, and water params are as follows:

    Nitrites 0
    nitrates 0
    ammonia 0
    temp 75
    salinity 1.025

Microacea? I would say a tiny squamosa for a few years? You would need to add calcium and other elements along with phyto so it would be hard to keep params in check. Its hard, but doable IMO.

The only thing about having it in a nano that small is that it would really deplete the Alk and stuff in there. I have a 5" crocea in a 29g and it uses up ALOT of stuff in the water, i have to dose Alk about once every week to keep it above 8.

You could pull it off for sure but you will have to be ontop of dosing or water changes.

It was a wordplay, combination of micro and crocea, not actually a real clam. Maximas usually come in tiny so probably your best bet.
I would almost justify a tom's aqualifter dosing pump hooked up to a 5 gallon ATO reservoir with RO and trace elements for that.

Croceas grow to 6 to 7 inches and Maximas to about 10 to 12 inches.

Not a good idea IMO. They suck up calcium like Coca cola.
