My tank has been doing well,
    This a.m.'s params were:
    NO3- 0
    Ca+ 420
    Mg 1380
    Alk 8

I can assure you that my Phos is also undetectable by API

For the last few weeks, my GBTA doesn't seem to be doing well.
I've had hime over a year, and he is one of three nems I have in my DT.

He is always pale now, and small.
He has been at the same place for over a year also.
The other nems, coral seem to be fine.

He seems to take pellets when I spot feed about once a week though.

I actually tried to move him about a week ago thinking it might help him, he wouldn't budge- still looks the same too.

Any thoughts on what might be going on? He's never been this pale, etc.

I'd think if he wanted more or less light or flow, he's move to it.

    TIA

my GBTA kept shrinking but didn't get pale...seemed to be expelling itself on a regular basis almost too frequently.....I couldn't figure out what may have been the problem either....I eventually took him out because I was afraid he might "pollute" the tank. He never seemed sick per se but was bubbling up less and less and just didn't seem right.

You have other nems in your system to compare him to so it sounds like he's not happy but no explanation as to why. I guess sometimes things just don't thrive ? I'll be interested in what others have to say.....

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Todd- why not try feeding some sm. pieces of raw fish or other sea foods and see if the anemone will take it.

Judging by your beautiful tank I doubt light is an issue nor phosphates.

I suppose it's possible this was just a bad clone, not enough material made it to the clone from the original but that is just speculation.

Are there over passionate clowns residing in this anemone?

Chemical warfare going on, is it too close to any soft corals or leathers?

As always an image helps. If the anemone is displaying short stubby tentacles I would guess nutrition.

My littlest RBTA does this... not to the exact but fairly close... it was a split... it seems to do less frequently when snowflake clown hosts in it.. I took a rosy red mino & it gobbled it up... usually if they are not happy the will move... IMO I'm saying keep close eye on it & agree with corailline try to feed it small unthawed frozen or live fish..live would be better... it should be fine.. good luck!

Thanks to everyone for the helpful replies!

Cheryll, I'll address your points, I think you may have somthing here.

He also has short stubby tentacles, but it is eating.

Since it's hard to move the GBTA,
I'll begin plucking off the mushrooms anywhere near it!
Funny, my RBTA will actually EAT those shrooms.

I've heard an ice cube will often get the nem to let go.

    Any other tricks?

    So Cheryl, or others,

Do you think it could be the Green striped mushrooms? trhey have always been near it, and are the closest thing to it.

That's a tough one todd. If your other anenome eats them I wonder if they would be able to damage another one. I have mushrooms pop up near my BTA but if they come in contact its the mushroom that doesn't fare well. I hope your nem pulls through. I just lost one last week.

    Thanks Dennis,

Here's todays pic. He usually looks more greenish and colorful.

I too agree that it would seem funny why the RBTA would eat them, (the mushrooms), but the GBTA would be so negatively affected by them.

well, once you move the shrooms, let us know how it goes.....I'm curious because I'm beginning to wonder if that was my anemone's problem and feel horrible now - I had a toadstool leather right by it?? :(

It's got a small amount of color back today, still hanging in there- no pun intended
Still real small though. still seems to be eating when spot fed. I'll keep fingers crossed.
