    can you help me with while they are bad?(aipatasia) Can I keep it under control in anyway...BTW I'm already hooked sl there is no turning back now....Will the white stuff be bad if its bleaced algea...HElp please....On another note, is this a mushroom? also.....this frag is load with coral ones on the back side too......Here are some other things given to me by a friend not a LFS....Beautiful huh?.....Everyone is just bumping me thanks for the help but can any1 answer please....I'd like to know where to place this frag in my tank......

    the second pic is a pulsating xenia.
    not sure on the first maybe a mushroom?

    the first is a red algea not bad however.
    You could keep the apstisia howevey it spreads and can quikly over run a tank the reason that most people opt to remove it is that it is invasive and has a powerfull sting which can kill or retard growth of other corals like your xeinia.
    you can get peppermint shrimp that will eat the apstisia or as another poster said Joes Juice is a formula to kill them.

    That free frag has several things on it.

    1. Green button polyps, great freebie.
    2. Aiptasia, not good, should get rid of.
    3. Some kind of branching sponge.
    4. Some good caroline growth.

    thanks for everyones input....what would happened if i took twezzers and pull the Aiptasia off will that be ok?....

    I concur with luna. As far as the aiptasia, it is best to inject it with kalkwasser, aiptaisa X, Joe's juice, or i hear lemon juice, or very hot water on just the aiptasia.

    I personally use kalkwasser paste, which is pickling lime in a thick mixture, and I use a needle, or syringe to inject it in it's mouth or anywhere inside the pests. It works on pest shrooms and majeno anemones as well.
