Sweet lights, what brand did you finally go with?

 

This one right here. $379 with free shipping. I checked the seller out and has had nothing but glowing reviews, so I went for it. Some of these go for upwards of $600-$700.

My temp has gone up .5 in about 5 hours. I'll watch that tomorrow after a full day.

 

Wow that is a great light, let me know what you think after a week or two I'm thinking about upgrading mine...

Where did you place the external ballast?

Look great! Same lights I have, been very happy with them.

 

I put them on my entertainment center. On glass in the open air...

 

Some early concerns... My temp is now up a full degree and I'm seeing bubbles forming on my LR and crushed coral bed. Is this a product of the temperature fluctuation?

Also, I'm going to need a bigger clean-up crew. hehe I've got algae springing up on my glass just after a few hours.

Will give an update tomorrow night. I may have to raise the lights up an inch or two to help cool it down.

 

Very nice! Did the lights also come with shades for the tank inhabitants?

 

LOL no. but I need some! Sitting in my chair I can see the MH a bit over the top of the tank and it is giving me a headache. My next project is a DIY hood with mucho cooling fans I think.
