Has anyone used the Taotronics fixture on a 90 gallon aquarium? I am having second thoughts on whether to use two units or only one. My tank will be mostly softies with just a few LPS.Not sure I can get away with one but am worried two maybe too much.

Use both and run one on blues only if you think it will be too much :) IF you can hang them the right way (not side by side)

I was a little afraid to purchase the dimmable version because I know using dimmers can shorten the life of these lights. In retrospect I wish I would have.

I think it will be okay if you treat them as you would any other light....shortened photo period, maybe a acrylic or glass top, mesh top, hung really high above water....... just throwing out ideas to help the acclimation.

how is the coverage with just the one light?

Thanks for the replies. Unfortunately I only have enough room to hang them at 8 inches above the water so I think I will try one and see what happens although I have been wanting a wrasse so I may take the oppurtunity to screen the top. That is the sound of me pounding my head on the desk.lol :hammer:

First, calm down, Bro. Breath... breath... breath... :)

Assuming you only purchased one, keep in mind that softies and LPS will survive for a few days on lower light, and they'll let you know if they're not getting enough. At that point, you could always go back to your old lights until you get a second unit.

No I have two. ;) I think I will start with just one and see how it goes. I can always add the second if needed. If one works some lucky reefer is going to be very happy.LOL
