My cardnel just died today. We did a water change yesterday and check all the water levels everything was fine. We feed them as well, it had been about two days since they last eat. He looked a little gray notas shiny as he had been. Everything else in the tank is doing fine? So I am not sure what happened? Any idea's?

    Michael.

I don't feed on water change days to let things stabilize ... what are your water parameters?

    Sorry for your loss.

Even if ammonia, nitrite, etc are good, what's the water temperature?

How long have you had this aquarium? What size? How many fish?
If you post the water parameters that would be helpful.

We have one fish (now). We have had the tank since Memeral Day Weekend. In the tank also are: 5 hermet crabs, one (1) Emeraled crab, one(1) sexy shrimp, and one (1) coral.

    The water is:

    Salinity 1.025
    Ammonia .25 - .50
    Nitrite 0
    Nitrate 20(ts)
    PH 8.4(ts)
    Calcium 440
    KH 8
    Phosphate 0
    Nitrate 0
    PH 8.2

I have no Idea what these numbers mean like I said my wife does this. I hope this helps.

Michael, which is it? Are the nitrates 20 or 0? Even if they're 20, the fish probably wouldn't die as a result.

Another thing, if the tank is a month old, I'd say it might be a bit soon to have a sexy shrimp, cardinal fish and a coral. Your cycle might not even be over yet??

The Nitrate are in there twice, that is way I wrote just as she has it in her book.
    It is a 25gal tank.
The onther animals look great. No signs of anything being wrong.
    Do Cardinal fish get lonely?

    :-[ Sorry.

Sensitive little fish. Tried one once in my tank. Did not last a week as all the other rambunctious fish in there also just scared it to death...even though they paid it no never mind...:-/

    Trip to LFS in order.
