Do they display any symptoms when they are about to molt?

He has been digging alot in the gravel bed lately. He has dug out the gravel in my tank all the way down to the under gravel filter that I have under a large rock structure.

I pushed the gravel back and he dug it out once again today.

Is he trying to secure himself a little spot so that he can molt?

What other symtoms do molting Blue Crayfish display?

Molting creatures will hide when molting. It is their most vulnerable time. Even for a few days afterward, my CBS will not come out. He lets his exo-- harden up.

    Well he is always hiding.

Its just the last few days he has been digging alot....almost like he is trying to get even more protected.

Makes me wonder if he is trying to molt.

He has a really pink belly......is that a sign?

Must be getting ready to molt because it is a male Blue crayfish. My LFS said that they do not sell females to the public.
