Previously, I had a 125 gallon "uniquarium" type of setup (see http://www.3reef.com/forums/show-off-your-fish-tanks/125-gallon-uniquarium-reef-build-68351.html). Recently, I bought an 180 gallon tank with the exact same type of built in wet-dry filter, but this time I'm planning to go to a full blown reef setup. I'll be using most of the old equipment off the old tank w/ a some new stuff planned.

    Aquarium:
    - Tru Vu 180g Aquasystem (72"x24"x24")
    Skimmer:
    - (2x) Marineland 100g skimmer
    Heating:
    - (2x) Marineland 350W heater
    Flow:
    - (2x) Marineland 750gph pumps
    - (2x) Marineland Maxijet 1200 w/ Eco-Flow mods
    Lighting:
    - Marineland 72" Pro Lighting System

That is an awesome looking tank! Is this build sponsored by Marineland?

Thanks! I got lucky i stumbled upon this after searching for it for almost a year! And no, I'm not sponsored by Marineland...just have always used their stuff in the past with good success (for the most part).

Some more pics of my tank w/ the stand. Note the 2 Marineland skimmers sticking out on both sides. This was done to combat one of the shortcomings of the skimmer: its water level sensitivity. By placing it directly in the path of the overflow, I'm assured to always have the same water level. I had to put a couple of trays underneath to support it, but I've tried this on my old 125g tank and it works great! More to come...

Some more pics I snapped of the custom filter system and returns....

    - Dual 775gph returns from filter chamber plumbed up in 1" hosing

    - Returns go to dual 1/2" bulkheads (i know kinda puny) w/ loclines attached. Will have an eductor on both lines to increase flow as well.

    - Added filter sock for mechanical filtering on both overflows

If all the stuff i order come soon, i should have tank running by next weekend.

Thanks - The Marineland fixture was a pretty penny, but well worth it as you will see some shots of it shortly. ;)
