mushroom trouble

    i have a big concern one of my shroom frags is not coming out like the others what do you guys think it could be? it just recently started doing that.please help!!!! concerned.water quality is good but i increased the salinity to .23 i also move it a little to make room for another frag.

    Could be the move. It may be in a spot with Lower/Higher flow.

    I would slowly get your Salinity up to 1.026

    1.026? isnt that sorta high? well...i suppose for star fish its better...i usually keep mine at 1.024-5

    The accepted standard for a reef tank is generally 1.026 and that is where I keep mine. For a fish only, you may go lower.

    I agree with Jason, get that salinity up slowly ;D

    ok so even if i have tangs i could still go that high? also water flow makes them not come out?? ill try to move power head somewhere else.thanks guys.

    really? i man i guess i am low i thought it supposed to be like 1.023! lol...well i uaually keep it at 1.024-5 anyways :)

    :) Yes, it's not that fish prefer lower salinity, obviously they live on the reef with the same salinity. It has however, become commonplace to keep fish only tanks at lower salinity for a number of reasons. Prevention of Ich, slightly less expense (saving on salt) and they can tolerate it with generally no problems. Corals, however, really need the higher salinity to stay healthy ;D

    Shrooms are quite hearty! It should perk right up

    ok moved the powerhead increased salinity still no shrooms bloomin' anything else i should try? my other shrooms look fine! do you guys need a pic of the shrooms? maybe you guys can diagnose!
