murcury poison from a broken thermometer?

    +1 to it not being mercury. Thermometers are mostly alcohol these days. I don't think you have anything to worry about. If the little balls are magnetic its iron not lead. Iron really shouldn't be a problem since gfo is made from iron rust somehow.

    I would just take out the balls and not worry about it.
