    its kinda hard to tell but it looks like its just a lot of detritus build up to me more than an algae of any kind.

    I have a large clean up crew(55g for my 40g) and they don't touch this stuff. So I do not know if it is detritus or a bad algae.

    Looks like some kind of filamentous algae to me (if you're talking about the light green stuff). That looks like a fairly young tank, no? Do you use tap water? Have you checked phosphate levels?
