Montipora turning white.... losing color HELP

    need what as to why my monti is turning white... half has lost color and the other half is turning white. Any ideas

    Please post parameters, how old the tank is, and lighting. That will help determine the problem. Do you have pics?

    please add a full tank shot
    so we can have an idea on flow pattern and also see its neighbours

    tanks been running for 10 months
    there has been an out break of hair algae lately
    there are 2 pink tip bulb anemone attached to the underside of the montipora

    if its sitting high under intense light move it to the bottom ...im guessing

    Calcium? Alkalinity? Magnesium?
    Phosphate? Nitrate?

    flow?


    the answer may be with any one or a combination of the above

    also flow, despite fact Montis are often reffered to as moderate, they dont do well if snail poop or other detritus is allowed to settle on them etc

    This would be a suspect for me
    the Monti may be getting stung and the flesh is decaying

    mine turned white but when I moved it so it got more flow it got it's color back.
