Montipora Digitata is turning white

    :-/ Not sure what is happening with it? But it really happened over a couple days here is a pic of it

    Should i start fraging it or what? It looks like it still has polyps in the white areas they have just turned white?

    Eh...i would maybe try and save that last piece, but idk...its kinda small.

    best thing to do is to just let it go and hope it makes it. touching and moving it will just make it more upset.

    Hopefully it will stop RTN'ing soon and turn around

    IF there are still polyps on the white areas.... it is not STN/RTN. It would be an environmental thing. Check all your levels. Look closely for polyp extension. If they are still there extending, there is a chance it will recover.

    I nearly threw a lot of mine out when they did this... (main pump failure) Several months later, the color slowly came back. I never lost polyp extension though.

    could this have happened because of too much flow or too little flow?

    a lot of things actually... montis are tollerant of low flow but can become upset with excessive high flow.

    Do you have other SPS?

    If it isnt RTN, test your nitrates. High nitrates leads to loss of color and bleaching.

    i have a great deal of flow in my tank. I am thinking it might be too much flow for the montipora?

    what size tank and how much flow exactly
