Check out our video on YouTube:

YouTube Video - Mixed Reef Tank | 75 Gallon | SPS Dominated | LiveCoralReef

    • 75 gallon tank 48" x 18" x 21"
    • 20 gallon sump
    • coralife 150 cone skimmer
    • eheim return pump 500 gph
    • phosban 150 reactor running baked GFO
    • 2 cups marineland premium activated carbon
    • 2 koralia 1050 powerheads for the back
    • 2 koralia 750 powerheads for the front
Tank has been running for almost two years. Started as a LPS dominated tank running between 0.2 to 0.4 phosphates and about 10-15 nitrates. Moved forward into harder SPS corals with the addition of a phosphate reactor and seem to have more growth with them for some reason now. Have undetectable amounts of nitrates and phosphates may have something to do with it. Have not used my phosphate reactor in four months now as I can't find any phosphates to remove with my hanna checker. The corals seems to absorb the nutrients like a sponge now. I seem to see more growth in the tank from feeding more often. Even from the SPS which is unexpected when I'm feeding meaty foods which corals don't eat. I'm always learning something new in this hobby. Used to own freshwater fish as a kid but wanted to try my hand at saltwater.

    Target parameters:

    • 420 Calcium
    • 8.5 Alkalinity
    • PH 8.2-8.3
    • Temperature 78 degrees F +2/0
    • Dosing 50 ml each of B-Ionic 2 part solution every day
    • Feeding frozen food of the month (Rotation of PE Mysis, krill, and homemade fish/clam/shrimp mash) twice a week

Thank you for the warm welcome.

I'm just having a small problem. I'm trying to post my link in the signature but it won't let me. Do I need to make X many posts or are links disabled in signatures?
