    Hi all,

Quick question, I have a branching millipora (purple) frag that has been in my tank for about 1 month now. I have never had any sps in my tank so I'm not sure whether it is showing healthy signs or not. Basically all of the branch tips have turned white and I cannot see any small polyps in the white bit! The rest of it seems to be looking good and I am not sure whether it is growing, hence the white tips, or it hasn't grown and is turning white!

Hope someone can shed some light on this for me.

    Cheers

Any chance you could post a picture? It could be growth but it's hard to say from your description.

get it closer up under some stronger lighting and watch it turn purple :) We have tons of it as little frags its brown but when I move them up to the brighter lamps to color them up for a few weeks they get this beautiful deep purple color.. takes about a month..

I will do that, at the moment my rock only reaches half way up the tank so thats where it is placed at the moment, bang in the middle. I hope to get a few more pieces of rock soon and then I can move it further up. I am quite pleased so far as I have been battling to get my water parameters correct and now its looking good, because of that I only have one of my two strip lights on so I don't promote too much algae growth. Things have stabilised now so my other light will be up and running so my light output will double.

So all in all if its growing under less than adaquete light then I look forward to seeing how it does once the other light is on and is placed higher up in the tank.

    Cheers for your input
