That's a great price. Question is why are they selling it so cheap? Is it a magnetic 9pulse or probe start) or electronic start ballast. Electronic is much better. What Kelvin or K rating is the bulb, ie. 10,000K?

 

it says its used for plants so can it be used for tank and can I put any bulb in there like ushio or XM

 

You'll have to match the bulb to the ballast. I have a pulse start magnetic and it is not compatible with magnetic probe or electronic bulbs.

 

Ok so how do I know what my balast is I have 400W PFO and I probably need a new bulb in cuple of months and I have no Idea what kind mine is ?

 

Call the manufacturer and find out. You can check and see what information is on your current bulb.
