I've been looking at lighting, yet again...::)

Her's the link to the Metal Halide

I am looking at getting two 250w metal halides. But I don't want the bulb, just the fixture. Below the 250w fixture they show a 150w fixture only, no bulb. Do they have a 250w version of this? Is it possible to get the 150w fixture & put in a 250w bulb? Or would I need a new ballast for that?

I don't want to pay extra for something I am going to get rid of anyways...

This will be for a 75g mixed reef & will probably have T5 actinics.

All I can say is your lookiing at the web site not us and pretty much if it says it comes with a bulb it must come with a bulb.

If it was me I would call them or email them and ask them, they would more than likley be the ones that can answer your question.

To get a 250W bulb to work at full power you need a ballast to put out 250W.

I'm Afraid to tell you this but all their lights come with bulbs according to their web site. That 150 watt is the pedant only no ballast. And I really would be willing to bet even if they were to sell you one with out a bulb there would not be that much of a difference in price. +

EDIT: I sent them an email about an hour ago and had no problem and didn;t get anything back, you might want to check what you typed to see if you cot it correct

Here is all the info directly off of their site

    That's a bummer.

Would having posted a link in the email stopped the email from going through, causing the "error" ? I don't know why else it wouldn't have gone through.

Oh I also used that same email. When you click, "send email" at the bottom of their site, the email name is already typed in for you.
