    yeah that is a real possibility. Maybe I should see if there are some you tube videos on replacing the thermostat on the 02 impala. I read a couple articles that said it was a PITA.

    On a side note, this is not my vehicle. Its my brother in laws, im just trying to help him diagnose the issue. Also, this has been going on for awhile and he took it in and they did something with the main relay and it worked for bit, but its back at it.

    heck I worken on my 82 bronco for 8 years and had to get rid of it, but this civic... 3 years of shop and countless tires later and this thing is the biggest PITA EVER!!!!! but it gets good gas milage and is safer that a bike ;D

    If memory serves me correctly- independent- sorta- has a trailing axle but independent upper control arms, of which the ball joints all ways failed, or rotted out.
