Does it take a sec to get into gear from a stop?

Have you had it to the dealership? Many of the Nissans have ECM upates to help manage this problem.

If an ECM update is not the concern- can you list the milage and what engine you have? It can either be a v6 or a 4cyc.

Makes a big difference.

 

Sounds like a torque converter is going bad. Does it clunk in and out of gear while driving like it slipped?

 

Yes sometimes it feels as if it does slip in and out of gear. Its a 4 cl and has 110k miles on it. Any idea of cost involved with this?

 

Depends on what the shop you take it to charges hourly but it requires removing the transmission. so $200 to $500 is what im betting a shop will charge for labor.

nope that is a propritary transmission- meaning most parts only available thru nissan.

I would estimate- $2200.00 for a re-man.

It's gal ;D not guy. I'm just mechanically inclined.
1. has been fine (as in enough)
2. Some noise inside from the slutch pedal (squeeking kinda sound when off, can't hear it over the engine)
3. Have to put a heck of a lot of pressure on it to change gears.
4. As in side to side travel none I think...will check.
5. Doesn't as far as I know.

The stick seems to have too much play though...and forgot to mention that at times when it's cold out that other gears will on occasion not want to engage, but that is not too often and goes away when warmed up... Also sometimes the stick feels kinda sticky (reluctant a bit to change gears)and at others it's nice and smooth.

Haven't check for an engine code because it goes off before it can be checked.

Just read what the double clutching is....what about it???
