Have some growth on the scrubber after 48 hours. Not a bad start.

Thanks, I can already see a version 2.0 with improvements. It's amazing how much I learn just messing around. hehe

If you have any pointers for 2.0 let me know. Your 1.0 is far better than my 1.0 and will be building a new one at some point, so I will take any advice i can get on it.

For my pump I'm going to shorten the screen length from 22" to probably 18". This will give more back pressure so the entire length of the screen will be covered. Right now I can witness it sweeping from left to right at the top. A little more back pressure will give a more downward action on the stream. Currently it is mounted above my tank, no good. I've had to jury rig a bubble trap, more bubbles than I thought. Once I clean my refugium out of sand and macro I can reposition it below my tank. I'll start a new one in January and go through it step by step again.

Nice video- not so sure about the music :)

I like your ATS build. ( I have not attempted, still not sure I will)
But I really like your build. I really like how you're using those clamp ons (LIke I use on my chaeto mass- massive), with I presume 100W equiv. CFL bulbs?
    (I'm currently using 3 x 100W CFL's- all 6500K- from the big box store)

JUst from what I've seen alone, I'm sure this will end up working very well!

Kudos, nice DIY job, and I'm all about that DIY, 'bout that DIY, ....

Haha, I know. I grabbed it quick and it sounded like it had energy so I ran with it. :)

Thanks. It's been a fun process. I'm going to build another one next month and try to make it a little more efficient.

I use 4 ea 23 w cfl at 2700k which was a recommendation from many turf scrubber builds I read about.

Here is my growth after 2 days and 3 days. Hard to see, but it's there. Think I need to rough up the screen a little more. Not sure why growth right in the middle is so slow.

Four days of growth. My apex is feeding flake and pellets twice daily and I add three cubes about an hour before nutrient export mode.
