Wow. That puts the issue in perspective. Staggering.

I just read on my yahoo homepage that they found another swirling mass of garbage in the Atlantic.

I recently saw a commercial for a well-known water filtration pitcher that uses activated carbon as well as several filtration resins to turn tap water into quality drinking water. They showed how many bottles of drinking water can be saved with one water pitcher. I have to admit, it makes complete sense so I don't throw so many into landfills. Now I just keep bottles and refill them with filtered water.

    Good for you.
My girlfriend bought some canvas bags with handles for groceries so we don't use those plastic bags anymore. Those are the worst and they are everywhere now.

I like using those too. They come with an added benefit. One never has to double bag.
