I have placed Red Gracilaria and Sawblade in my main tank to help with water parameters and my angels have been ripping pieces off and then letting them fall to the sand. Do I need to worry about getting these pieces out? Will the ripped off pieces die and pollute my tank or will they still continue to aid in nitrates?

I would take them out. As plants decay, they release what they have taken in.
