Macro algea, which one

Ok so I have been trying to decide what type of plant/algea to grow in my refugium and all the "research/experiences" contradict each other. I have read mangroves are great but require more room and more flow, read cheato is great and also read cheato does nothing. Every time I read cheato is no good there was never an alternative given.
So my question is which one is best I hope this will open discussion about pros and cons of different types of algea.

HI,
never heard that about cheto, that just dosen't make sense beings its so expensive aroud here and everyone wants some.
I ve actually orderd some and a light for it so my thoughts are its pretty good.
I would avoid those trees I actually gave away some after they had problems
I am also expereimenting with shoal grass it does like a DSB for its roots to work.
