LFS says 12-15 drops per gallon in ph balanced FRESHWATER for 30 secs....

Directions on bottle say 30 drops per gallon FRESHWATER 10-15 minutes .....

I read a post in here 3 Reefs that said 12-15 drops in SALTWATER 10-15 minutes .......

Its for a Xenia that is not a happy camper ...not melted...just not opening for over a week .....Iodine test kit should be here tomorrow .....but I have been running Carbon for 2 months straight...and Skimming pretty heavy....LFS feels I have stripped the iodine from water ....Last water change 20% had no effect ( 1 week ago ) ...all parameters are great.

Sound logical ?? and any ideas on the iodine dip ??

no Lugols is very potent. do not do 12-30 drops! wait until you get your test kit before you add any! usually you will only need a few drops. a little goes a long way with that

iodine dip for xenia- I would take as much tank water as you need to cover the xenia in a bowl and drop in 5-6 drops then let them sit for about 10 min.(IMO) when I did iodine dips I used a product called Ocean's Blend. It's not as strong as Lugols and very good for dips

LOL Just the man I wanted....was reading your thread ...Funny because I have a FS that is in same shoes.....and LFS said NO NO to FS in Iodine !!

FS suffered a LOW salinity and never opened.....Xenia was in tank 3 days and it shriveled...all other corals are looking good ...Annenome...starpolyps...Feather duster...and green star buttons.....they think lack of Iodine ?

Recommended the Lugols Dip ...got home read directions ...read you post...checked it out and went ??????

I haven't heard of dipping soft corals. I have personally only dipped lps. Instead of dipping, you could just supplement.
