    My SG is at 1.028 right now water is a little low in my 55. wondering what a ratio of fresh water to add to reduce the SG. So i dont shock anything.

    Just add Fresh Water (Preferably RO water) until your water level looks ok. Check the SG then. If it is still high, remove some of the water and replace with fresh.

    I would just take out a pint or two every few hours and replace it with fresh water for a day or two, you'll get a feel for it after a few times of diluting and then retesting. You want to do it gradually generally speaking anyway so just start slow and then once you get a feel for how much it takes you can bump it up if you need/want to.
