    I have been dosing just the Alk portion of the 2-part to keep my alk up. Will that cause these readings?

    You said you are using Salifert for alk right - are you using 2 drops for more accurate readings? Did you remember to flip the hypo needle open end up to read the results? I've been burned on that one myself.

    EDIT - ignore this - this won't help your mag that you posted recently...

    I am using API for alk. I don't remember if I flipped the hypo needle upside down or not when i did the tests though.

    I just tested my calcium, magnesium, and alkalinity tonight at 6:30PM. Both magnesium and calcium dropped by almost 100ppm. I have been having to dose enough each morning to raise my DKH 1 point. This seems to be allowing the mag and cal to be available for uptake. I have a huge growth spurt in many of my acros. If this keeps up, I will be down to where I want to be by the end of the weekend.
